Carl's walk for change - Photo Gallery
Carl has a degenerative, hereditary eye condition called Retinitis Pigmentosa. Usually people present with the early stages of this condition much later on in their adult life. Carl was diagnosed at 3 years of age. Carl is now 11. The condition causes slow decreased vision; night blindness and tunnel vision as the retina’s functioning decreases. It often results in blindness. Carl’s vision continues to deteriorate and currently has limited peripheral vision. Carl is a member of Retina QLD, and now requires extra planning and assistance that will be beneficial in his future growth and development. Sadly, there is no cure for RP at present. Carl believes that it is only a disability…if one allows it to be!
